The road to riches is paved with many money-sucking obstacles that will bleed a person's check book dry such as: travel, Ferrari's, and RIMS, for the car! This is a note to everyone who has ever considered purchasing RIMS, you have to ask yourself: do these RIMS cost more than my car? If the answer to this question is -YES- then walk away. I don't even think people are stupid when I see them driving in a car were the rims cost more; I just feel sad. Save yourself the money that you would spend on rims, and put a larger down payment to a better car. Say it with me: better car, not better rims!
I have had my own personal battles with rims. Once upon a time... I drove a Honda with the stock rims that came with it, which were nice, and served my driving needs. However, at 4am one morning, I got a knock my door... I asked who was there, and to my surprise it was two cops! They informed me that my Honda was currently resting on two cinder- blocks, and my RIMS & TIRES were GONE! I was like WHAT?!?! Clearly you have me mistaken for someone else. Nope! They suggest that I come do something about it, but really what was I going to do at that time of the morning? Obviously I can't move my car due to the lack of tire-thing I have going on. The next day my parents came with the more expensive RIMS to place on the car. Originally, these RIMS were taken off to prevent them from being stolen or damaged. We never thought the cheaper versions would be taken, but we were so wrong. Naturally, I purchased a car-cover to help mask the expensive RIMS, and deter people from stealing what was beneath. The car cover was stolen too! So, I purchased another car-cover, and had to lock it every night. This new process took roughly 30mins, just to get out of my car, this is nuts. I called my parents one day, and said please for the love of baby jesus get me hubcaps. I want those ugly things on my car now. Since I have had hubcaps on I don't need a car-cover, no missing RIMS & tires, and my car is still there.
RIMS are a much bigger commitment than I ever expected. Just think twice about them... Also, if your car is a pinto, don't place RIMS on it!
