Walking in LA, Nobody Walks in LA

Yesterday marked the third and FINAL body shop that I dropped my car off to! This journey started about a month ago when my intern hit my car, please click here, if you missed that story. Body shop number #1: I dropped my car off (for the second time) because it was hit in my work parking-lot. Hours later, assuming the work was already started on the car, I got a phone call from the shop, shop manager, insurance representative, and the claims adjuster. Needless to say - no one was doing their job right- and I had to figure everything out, which lead me to remove my car because I was unsure if the shop was trying to rip me/insurance company off. They wanted to replace the whole left-side of my car, and the insurance wouldn't agree to that. So, I picked up my car... When I received my car, it was covered in pink marker highlighting all of the dings and dents. Driving around like that was awesome until I took it to shop #2. Before I made the mistake of leaving it at the shop I thought I would ask their opinion to clarify (on my end) who was trying to rip me off. Insurance company vs. shop, maybe both in this war of my sanity and nerves. I was only out of my car for 5 minutes until the guy started speaking AT ME instead of answering my questions. Also, he said the same thing about removing the side of my car, which made me question him, especially due to what the insurance said. Hhhmmm... I hopped in my car, and just drove away. Generally, people you should listen to your gut about things, and mine was telling me to leave. Finally, shop #3. Honda of Hollywood I showed up, and we TALKED about the course of my car, and actually provided me with information to my questions. WOW, why was that so hard every where else, so I left my car to be repaired. Enterprise was already there waiting, and I hitched a ride to pick up my rental. This story starts with in the same week my car got hit, moved my apartment, and left for Ireland. I advise you not to do all of these things in one week! Once I arrived to pick up my rental (thanks insurance!) I finally felt as though this was done with. However, I lost my license in the move, and passports don't pass in auto-world. I got a ride back to work, and was a bit lost as what to do. NOBODY WALKS IN LA - like The Missing Person's song Walking in LA So... I looked into bus routes. WOW! LA has very limited public transportation, however, I am determined to master it. For the next week I will be riding on the Dash Bus Today I literally helped a old lady off the bus, and it made me feel good! Saving the environment, helping people, and getting ride-share points from work, I might do this more often...

Finally, just to top off the story, I locked myself out of my house last night because I forgot my house-key on the same key ring as my car, it might be good idea to have a spare or a separate key-chain. No worries, I made it into my apartment alive and healthy!

I hope you can laugh at this, or learn from my mistakes or observations. I know I am trying!!!!!
